4/14/2023 0 Comments Realtek 8192cu driver rpm( note rtlwifi/rtl8192cufw.bin) I extracted the firmware file and placed it in /lib/firmware/rtlwifi/rtl8192cufw.bin. You can get it in a Debian repository called realtek-firmware, but only the recent, unstable releases have it. I noticed that neither the elRepo nor the Realtek download included firmware. I tried the drivers from the elRepo site (kmod-r8192cu), and I also tried downloading from Realtek and building, without luck. This is slightly confusing because the file names say "8192cu" but the driver name appears as "rtl8192cu" The Netgear WNA1000M wifi USB adapter is based on the Realtek RTL8188CUS, which has vendor ID 0846 and product ID 9041Īccording to various compatibility tables, this uses the 8192cu or rtl8192cu drivers. ![]() ![]() ![]() This one drove me nuts for a day and a half so I'm posting my findings here in case they are useful to anyone else.
